My first mobile is dead

My K320,i loved it so much,but its no more.It was the first mobile i got.It is a cute looking mobile with the best and ultimate features available at that cost.

[zooming back exactly 670 days............FLASHBACK]

It was on February 24,2007.It was a Saturday.I started frm my house around 3 and reached t.nagar around 4.I was waiting near saravana stores as planned earlier where my mom would be meeting me coming back from her school.We are an ordinary middle class family who though have no problems in making the ends meet every month.But due to our housing loans we desire to get the best and branded things but at the cheapest rates.So saravana stores is the best place for it,though many (especially ka praveen who is a company owner.....Lakshmi mittal ke mirattal viduvaan) might tease,I am not bothered,coz its our family situation and only i know & realize it.

As I was waiting there,I saw one of the girl from my class who stays there doing shopping with her mom on Ranganathan street (jus happened to see her.....v hav nt had any sort of introduction before) and she passed away along with the crowd. Vettiya wait panravanuku vedika paakardha vitta veru enna velai.It was saturday evening so then came a crowd of college girls passing,some love jodis doing weekend shopping and the families with small mischievous kids where the fathers were having a tough time handling their kids.

Then came my mother,I had already planned for a motorola mobile(w375) which had fm,camera and media player at a cost of 4500.We enquired at saravana electronics,he did nt have it...he showed us some other samsung mobiles but i was nt impressed.Then we went to Saravana selvarathnam jewellers where they also sell cellphones.Again i enquired abt that motorola mobile,though the sales guy said they have it but he said its an old model and the sound is nt that gud and asked my budget.I said it is 5000,a strict budget from my mom.He suggested me sony ericsson K320i and its features and it was the best i could get at that budget.Little did i realize then i was going to get one of my best buddies soon.

The cost was Rs.5050.My mom was giving me frowning looks since it had crossed my previous estimate of 4500.She asked me to quickly enquire its rate in other shops,quickly i ran to the saravana electronics we visited before there the cost of k320 was 5200.I reported back to my mom and we finalized of buying this phone.I saw another one k510 which costed 5800 with expandable memory, fm and 1.3 megapixel camera but my budget cud nt buy it.Thats it we happily bought my k320.

From then on my dear k320 has been with me through all my college life until the december 18th,2008 when it was brutually murdered by me and my friends by drowning it in the bay of bengal at VGP golden beach.Though we were not aware of its presence in my pocket.

It was my k320 which was my primary instrument of kadalai with so many girls...It was my ultimate entertainment hearing my favourite songs at night and also while going to college in my cycle.It was my informer during placements about various companies and the time of starting of ppt and venue etc coz i was usually late.Even during college when i was usually late,only based on my k320's info whether staff had come to class and the time of staff's entry,i would enter class.It had one of the best vga camera.And i used its fixed focus to capture many unforgettable memories at many places i went about.One unforgettable photo is that of a girl though 2 years elder to me who works at Aricent.All guys at aricent used to flirt with that beautiful flower like flocks of bees.I used my usual trick of taking photos without others knowledge to take that photo(I wont tell that trick.....it is company secret).

Now the phone itself has become history and an unforgettable memory.It was like losing one of my best friends when i realized my phone is no more.More than the phone, it had all my friends,relatives,seniors,juniors,staff and other important ppl contacts.All of it is lost.

May ur soul rest in peace. Now let me come back to how it met its tragic end.The four day international conference had just ended which we mainly attended for just a single reason.just for the sake of sight adichifying the cse girl which me and KarthiKeyan like in common.The next day we had planned to go to sai baba temple in ecr and then to VGP.but it was nt finalized we were confused whether to go to vgp or mahabalipuram and vgp was finalized

On the 18th november i reached tambaram by 9:30 where karthikeyan and kamlesh had already come.Praveen joined at 10:15.Then we left to sai baba temple by c51.reached there by 11.had a good darshan but did nt wait for the 12 o clock pooja and left the temple by 12:15 and reached vgp by 12:30 by share auto.after getting the entry ticket for 125 though its not worth it.We enjoyed a few rides and went to beach at around 1:30.We left our bags, slippers, rolled up our pants and went into the waters.I dont have words to describe the incident.A huge wave of water was upon us when we were totally unaware and it was unexpected(I remember my childhood trip to VGP with my parents when i was in 2nd standard....we were standing in the beach when a wave was upon us unexpected and my dear sis got completely wet along with my dad).It just happened.I dont want to blame either Karthikeyan or praveen for whatever happened.Its over for now.I should have been more cautious by staying away from water or leaving my mobile in my bag or atleast shud hav kept it in shirt pocket(alas there was nt any pocket in the t-shirt i was wearing).If i had been,i could hav saved it.I jus wrote a small poem about my k320.It is the first time i am writing a poem....have started a new hobby.Many say a beautiful girl or love makes a guy to write poems.But my first poem i ever wrote in my life is due to sorrow of losing the best of my companions(my k320) which was with me throughout the past 600 odd days.

My dear K320
I bought it a year before my age was twenty
It entertained me to the best of its share
but it died when i was totally unaware
The sound quality was ultra clear
I always had it in right side of whatever i wear

It was my primary instrument of kadalai
it met its end on our visit to kizhaku kadarkarai saalai
It recorded videos in the format 3gp
It was nt alive when i came out of VGP
The vga camera quality was the best
may its soul peacefully rest

I had planned of buying a new K810 and giving my k320 to my sister.But that looks doomed now due to my carelessness,I doubt if my parents would even buy me a nokia 1100.

A word of caution to everyone out there:

1. Take care of your mobile especially Sony Ericsson when you are near water,coz Sony Ericsson's charger slot itself is big enough to let in large amounts of water.
2. The first thing is to switch off the phone and remove the battery.
3. Never ever plug in the battery coz it would cause a short circuit
4. Rush it to the Mobile company's authorized service center as early as possible
5. Those guys would be having a solution which will immediately dry the water and put on the battery and your phone would be back to normal

Mistakes I made:

1. I removed the battery only after 3 hours the phone got wet
2. I let it dry in my home for 2 days without the battery
3. And since it was sea water,the water dried up leaving behind the salt and that caused corrosion on various parts
4. Again i put on the battery
5. Gave it to a local mobile repair shop

The job of my dreams

I would be getting my offer letter in a few days, I just want to say this holding the offer letter in my hand

Ok tension agadhinga...i think the build up is enough.Coming back to the point.

I have already mentioned about my sorrows and rejections in dream jobs.After rejection in Nortel where even guys with less CGPA than me and joe got selected and without any idea of future dream jobs I was in an upset mood.It might have been our unlucky day at Nortel.Forget it.

A message came from Hari,my schoolmate and the current PR that Symantec is coming on November 5th pay is 5.5 lakhs.Who bothers about pay,all i need is a reputed dream job with a decent salary above 5 lakhs and Symantec seems to fit into my requirement.

A small flashback back to 5 months some sweet morning in june my senior Pradeep and I were chatting when i was interning at Aricent,then he had told he was shortlisted and got rejected in the interview of Symantec.And it was the best company which used to come late for recruitment and only lucky guys who though talented get rejected luckily by not-so-good companies get placed in Symantec......back to the present hmm maybe thats why my lord Murugar is delaying my dream placement....Lets see.At that moment nothing was running in my mind.All my focus and determination was to get placed in the last dream of this semester and to end the worst year of my life on a good note.Ya 2008 was the worst year in my life,the pillow on my bed knows my tears of rejection,the placement notice board knows my looks of anticipation.

November 5th happened to be the lab assessment for Component Development Lab.How could we attend Symantec placement??If we miss lab assessment we would lose 25 mark out off 100 for the subject and more than that have to face the wrath of our HoD for bunking the lab exam...I cant write any more apology letters.It was Novemeber 4th evening HoD was not in college,she had gone somewhere out.Me,Parthiban,Praveen and Vijay Vinod were waiting to get HoD's permission to postpone lab assessment.None of the other so called responsible persons of the class bothered to wait but thats not the case with me.My only focus is on getting placed tomorrow.Though I am successful in getting placed or not but i will put all my strength to try for it.

HoD came back,but our FA was missing...coz we could talk with her through him only.FA came back,HoD is missing....She is in Deans room along with EIE and ECE HoD and some 1st year and 2nd year guys for some ragging problem which turned to a fight and police issue.Now we are waiting for her to return.It is 7:30 p.m now.One by one the students were coming out.Its already 7:30,what will i be able to prepare for tomorrow's placement and I needed to be thorough in almost all subjects ranging from algo,dbms,os,oops,c,data structures,n/w etc this is what some of my seniors told.That seems to be impossible task to even revise these subjecs getting back home tired.But still I would nt give up and I still waited.Then something struck me,HoD might have directly gone to Grid Lab.....Eureka.....I checked up there..she is in...called up FA and the 4 of us went in....this is what happened

Throughout these hour long waitings all i had been telling praveen and parthiban was "We have done a selfless act(ofcourse it has a tinge of selfishness) by staying so long for others including us to attend Symantec,we have done a punniya kaaryam.So i am sure one of us will definitely get placed tomorrow"

We came out and told to RN.Vinod,Sivakumar and Shanthakumar who were waiting outside what had happened.And soon i left home.Reached home by 8.And started off with some revision with notes i hav been collecting for placements.My determination did nt let me sleep,It is 2:10(i still remember exactly) my mom woke up and said,"Ippo thoongalana nalaiku interview thookam varum.Moonu varusham padikaadhadhaya innum moonu mani nerathula padichida pora....konjam neram rest edupaa"....What a fool i was???what will i gain by reading now..I slept and woke up at 7..got ready and left early by 8:30 but still could reach there only by 10:10 when the ppt was almost over.By the way I have a strange sentiment,I have got shortlisted in all companies where i was late to ppt.Hopefully i get shortlisted here too.

Frankly speaking the salary part in the ppt was the most confusing.They said fixed cash of 4.75-5.25 and then total salary from 5.5 to 7.25 and all salary are variable from person to person.Hopefully i ll understand after i enter Symantec

These Merittrac guys were going to conduct the tests.It was a solid 1:30 hr test and many where sleeping in this long test.I went ahead slow and steady solving the maximum.Since no negative marking atlast i marked all "C" for unanswered question there were only some 10 or 15 i had nt answered.Test over we came out.Some were teasing i will get shortlisted and placed..I heeded to none of their voices.My true friends who usually tease me understood my feelings and what was going in my mind and they kept silent.We went for lunch,free tea and mixture was given at vivekananda auditorium...Shantha and KK got a hand onto it,all 6 of us shared.went to lunch at madras university canteen,had lunch returned to CUIC.Results announced at 1.So soon!!!

Nearly 38 got shortlisted out of which from MIT IT,it was 5 of us me, joe, E.Sathish, rn.vinod, talat[NO girls!!!!].Interviews start at 2.I was in the 3 o clock batch.I left to have a face wash,my school friend Manoj messaged me that i was called.I was late,my name had been called earlier,so i had to wait till 3 o clock batch.In the meanwhile we had to fill up some form rating us in various domains and pin up our resume with it.My first interviewer was a cool guy,he introduced himself as fred.Later the next day i found more about him,his full name fredrick terrance,his wordpress blog,and he is owner of Symantec Chennai community.
The interview started at 2:50,

Fred:Good Afternoon Karthik.Have your seat
Me:Good Afternoon sir.Thank you.
Fred:When did you come Karthik
Me:Just now
Fred:Oh then you are late
Me:No sir actually i was waiting outside
Fred[going through my resume]:ok cool down first....What all companies came to ur college this year
Me:Microsoft,globalscholar,nortel etc
Fred:To what level have you been thru in these companies
Me:[told as mentioned in my prev post abt my rejections]
Fred:What was ur last company
Me:nortel
Fred:when was it
Me:a week back
Fred:so u r still in the interview mood
Me:yes sir
Fred:How good are you in networks?
Me:fairly good
Fred:[asked a simple network question i don remember]
Me:[answered]
Fred:Moving on to OS,What do u know abt virtual memory
Me:[told]
Fred:Ok,I have a system with 20 GB hard disk which is now fill with 19 gb data.I need 2 gb virtual memory,how will it be allocated
Me:[i answered whatever came to my mind at that moment....all concepts abt virtual memory,paging etc]
Fred:Lets move on to some DBMS,how good are u in DBA commands
Me:I dont know sir, i know sql well
Fred:[gave me to write a query]
Me:[I wrote it wrongly]
Fred:Correct it if u can
Me:[I could nt]
Fred:OK leave it,write a program for string reverse
Me:can i use extra space
Fred:u may if u want
Me:i wrote a very naive code using extra memory for the string[i saved the efficient in-place reversal for next improvement...but he did nt ask and was going thru my resume.....i did have a very impressive resume]
Fred:Ok let me ask u a puzzle.There is a tall building with spiral and uneven staircases with different heights,how will u measure its height,tell me 2 approach,1)a layman and 2)a scientist
Me:told whatever my mind thought at that moment....all about gravity,trigonometry,heights and distance,dropping a thread etc.,
Fred:Ok Karthik,I am done with my interview.You may wait now
Me:Thank You sir

Its 3:40 now
Though I did only fairly well,I was not confident with the result.In the meantime,I dont remember the guy from symantec who was coordinating the waiting candidates,he was taking a person out and said result to be announced tomorrow(Results tomorrow means that we are REJECTED........ethana company interview naanga paathu irupom).Hmm similarly would i also be sent out soon???...those where the illusions going in my mind.I was waiting patiently,many who came after me went for 2nd round.Finally around 4:00 the person called me and lead me to another person for my second interview[Phew!! atleast i am still alive in the interview process...i should thank Mr.Fred]

The 2nd Interviewer was different from others around,he was an elderly person and everyone there was wearing a red Symantec t-shirt,but he was wearing a blue t-shirt,may be someone speacial and experienced....I am caught with him......dunno what my fate would be....ippove kanna katudhe.I dont remember his name.The interview started at 4:40

Me:Data structures and algorithms
Interviewer:what is ur favourite algorithm
Me:[i knew a few but i did nt wanna get caught saying them and later not knowing in detail abt them]Actually i am interested in problem solving
Interviewer:ok
Me:Given a problem i like using concepts of algo and data structure to code them
Interviewer:ok,then let me start with a simple problem,i hav a large set of integers ..say 1 billion and ram cant accomodate more than 1 million integers,how will u count occurence of each integer
Me:I did nt understand this and said abt the method similar to merge sort
Interviewer:I think you are tensed,do u need some water
Me:No sir,cud u jus repeat the question
Interviewer:(he repeated)
Me:I said an approach similar to flag array
Interviewer:Ok gud.Now let me move on to another simple problem,given an array of words and a smaller array of words,you need to remove the words in smaller array from the larger array.
Me:I told various approaches to this,starting with n-square solution of searching each word in smaller array in the bigger array,and then a trie-based approach
Interviewer:what is a trie??explain ur method better
Me:I said everything i knew abt trie,my spell checker project and the solution for this problem
Interviewer:Ok nice cud u think of any other approach??why not hashing
Me:but it uses a larger extra memory than trie sir,thats y i avoided it

Me:told everything from hashing,collision,collision resolution,probing
Interviewer:ok then,what are the subjects you hav in this semester
Me:told grid,cryptography & n/w security,.....i was fumbling(dai karthi enna subject padikara kooda gnyabagam illaya??)
Interviewer:ok dont worry it always happens,we dont remember the subject names,how much is your interest in networks??
Me:fairly good sir,but i like cryptography which v r studying this sem very much(i like that subject,but my grades are nt gud in it[:(] )
Interviewer:oh thats nice,so which buk do u follow

Interviewer:Oh,that black buk
Me:yes sir
Interviewer:I know that buk from the first till the last page [Vechutaanga Aaapu......I have turned the pages of the book only twice so far......on the nights before my two assessment tests]
[now the interview turned out to be a rapid fire round.....i dunno why it happened,but the interviewer was shooting out questions at quick successions,i too managed to answer them all,though questions were simple,but the speed was difficult to handle]
Interviewer:Why dont v use Des nowadays
Me:told abt key size etc
Interviewer:why not use a variation of Des
Me:told abt double des,triple des, and man in middle attack
Interviewer:Tell the importance of public key cryptography
Me:told whatever i knew
Interviewer:tell abt any hashing algorithm

Interviewer:tell me the procedure of getting the md5 hash value
Me:but sir there is a block diagram in the book,which v only learn by-heart(mug-up) the day before the exam
Interviewer:(he laughed out) i think that should be enough,these entire cyptography questions,i was just teasing you
Me:(Gosh!!! why did nt i understand it before)
Interviewer:Tell me abt ur final year project
Me:Explained abt it
Interviewer:So what do u know abt Symantec
Me:told abt their norton,internet securing,saving millions of dollars through security to other industries
Interviewer:what is intrusion?
Me:Getting into a network or accessing a system without proper authentication
Interviewer:what do u know abt virus
Me:told
Interviewer:have u written any virus?
Me:no sir
Interviewer:I think u may have to wait until v announce the results
Me:I was smiling wide(coz those who were rejected were sent back,so i have a high probability of getting placed by this hint which my interviewer gave me)
Interviewer:(he smiled back)do u have any questions
Me:yes sir,if u wont mistake me i hav a queation abt norton antivirus subscription
Interviewer:go ahead
Me:jus by changing the system clock,v are able to by-pass the subscription settings and use the full version even after it has expired,why has nt this bug been corrected so long,i am sure u are aware of it
Interviewer:(he gave a smile)but if u change the date,ur antivirus wud be active,so u can download the updates,but it wont be updated,since ur system date is sometime in the past,only updates of that system date would be installed in ur system
Me:thats kool sir
Interviewer:any more questions
Me:will i have any more round of interview
Interviewer:yes u might be having a HR round,jus a formality,u will be informed,u might have to wait for some time till then
Me:Thank you sir,hav a nice day

Now the time is 5:30.......an interview nearly an hour long..
I waited till nearly 7 without getting any response frm the guys who were assigning us to interviewers,in the mean time talat and E.sathish had been rejected.I went for my HR which was conducted by Geetha Raman who is the Principal HR.As told before it was just a formality asking abt my personal information,some of the questions i remember were,

Me:told the pre-recorded speech which i repeat for all interviews

Me:Told abt job of my dreams,an organization which saves many other organization,its like the military defence in s/w industry......[lots of extra bit]
Geetha:What is your final year project
Me:told abt grid and ddos
Geetha:do u do it in a company or college
Me:in the grid lab in our college,we have a separate facility for grid with 8 clusters(apdiya?????? sollave illa)
Geetha:are you ready to join chennai
Me:without any doubt maam,i would consider myself lucky to join at my hometown itself
Geetha:would you prefer to join as a tester or developer
Me:It does nt matter ma'am.I prefer to get knowledge about all domains in this young age.So i dont have any preference now.After knowing about my expertise,it would be wise for me to have my preference
Geetha:Ok since you are flexible i would suggest u to know how is Symantec different from other companies.........She explained the works of developer,QA and that v can switch between them when v want and when the positions are available.
Me:[I was listening to everything]
Geetha:Ok Karthik that ends ur interview.
Me:Thank You maam

Came back,RN vinod and joe were waiting for their HR rounds,I came out E was waiting for joe,then all rounds were over by 7:30.We all went to CEG canteen for some refreshments and had a chapaathi.Results to be announced by 8:00 it seems.My Dad came to ceg in the meantime to pick me up since it had got late and he was on his way back home.He was waiting near canteen and we went to sit in front of CUIC office,the results were getting a bit late increasing our tension and its nearly 8:45 now.The symantec guys came with the list,it was given to the other guy(not Selvam) to announce.12 got selected.RN.vinod,joe...and my name was still not announced,it was the 10th in the list of 12.

Thank you Muruga,you showed ur true grace for me by granting me a job in chennai itself.I did nt understand ur intentions and had even cursed you for not helping me in these troubled times. But after all i am a human soul who cannot understand ur noble intention to keep me under ur direct sight and to keep me as near to my parents as possible.Just by saying thanks i cannot conclude this,I owe you everything i have.Well Murugar's vital role in getting me what i desire throughout my life cant be explained in here,so i ll write a separate blog for his impact in my life.

We were then called in to be addressed.And they introduced us our project manager under whose team we would be working.the project manager along with the person who did my 2nd interview gave us the red Symantec t-shirts.We posed for a photograph.Finally the HR maam gave us her business visiting card and said "Wish to see you soon at Symantec".

A sigh of relief

When we were exiting the cuic office ,i said this to joe "Oru vazhiya oru tholla vituchu da".The cuic guy who announced the results was sitting in the chair.We thanked him.Came out.Called up dad first who was just standing a few metres away and said "place agiten pa" and then called mom and said "Amma Symantec la place agiten ma".Came back and left home with Dad

God lives in the heart of the people

The sufferings of those who are soaked in a sea of sorrows would never go unnoticed by God.He never leaves anyone to continue to suffer their pain and be helpless.There is no one in this world who has struggled and suffered pain from birth till death.Similarly there is no one in this world who has always been happy from birth till death.This is nature of life.When you say life,it comprises of all aspects,happiness and sorrow,sin and grace, good people and bad people.This is way of life.Only if we suffer pain in our life we will be able to realize the complete value of happiness.For instance,if you continue to stay in an Air Conditioned room all day you would nt realize its value.Go out and spend few time in the heat of direct sunlight and then come back thats when you realize its value.

This is the reason why God has filled each and every life on this planet with happiness as well as sorrow.This is the reason why when we go through a happy experience we love life and want to live it to fullest.At the same time if struck with a unhappy and sorrow event we hate our life and expect it to end soon.

But i feel that God does nt like these kind of people.I think this is the reason why some people dont get God's grace.If one happily accepts success and rejoices it but at the same time does nt want failure and does nt accept defeat,then it just means he has not yet understood God and Nature.

First we need to understand nothing is permanent in our life.When we get happiness,if we realize that it is just temporary,then we will rejoice it in a disciplined manner.Similarly when we are struck with grief,if we realize this is also not permanent,then we wont break into tears unable to bear the load of the failure.Life will have both mixed in their right proportions.Also it is good for life and our health.

We also need to know one thing.When compared to many other problems in life, money problem-i mean the problem of not having enough money is not at all a big problem.Some relative or someone we know of ours dieing in their young age,not able to get married and not able to lead a happy married life at the right age,our children not growing in a proper manner,some minor misunderstandings or fights with our close friend,betrayal of someone whom we love so much.....are examples of sorrows which can affect us to a great extent.Even I have thought before that if we have money we can overcome whatever grief strikes us.But now I have realized it is not like that.Not having money is jus a minor and short lived problem.But the problems i mentioned above are difficult problems which at times do not have any solutions.

When we face a problem - whether it be financial problem or something which affects us mentally - whatever may happen, there is no meaning in living life, suffering about the problem in our hearts unable to bear the pain the problem has caused us.Instantly, we need to spend every nerve of our mind to concentrate on how to solve the problem.Let me tell you how we need to think and analyse the problem-How did this problem occur? Why it occured? Due to whom it occured? What is our fault in it? If we analyse like this deeply,the origin of the problem will automatically become clear to us. If the mistake is ours, we should instantly ask "Sorry". If it is the fault of someone else,we need to make them understand their fault.When we tell a lie,in order to save that lie we need to tell hundred more lies. Similarly when we dont concentrate on solving a problem in its budding stages,it will start to nurture and grow to cause many more problems

I will just say one thing finally.God is not present anywhere else.He is present in the hearts and minds of the people.I have visited many places.I have even visited every nook and corner of this world.The humanity,mercy,helping tendancy which the tamil people have is not present in anyone else.That is the reason why everyone says "வந்தாரை வாழ வைக்கும் தமிழகம்"

If someone has the talent,skill,good thoughts and if he is a good human being ,the tamil people wont bother about his language or caste or anything else.So should nt there be a yardstick as to how to behave with people of such high qualities? If some one does any harm to them or betrays them - God wont let them without punishing them.

A scar difficult to heal.....,

This blog is not an account of the happenings,you may find about it in full detail in all newspapers and news channels.This is just a True Indian's feelings about the incident,a feeling shared by millions of Indian across the world.

Its November 26th, Mumbai-the commercial capital of India hit by the worst terror attack to ever happen on Indian soil.A bunch of teenagers in their twenties jolt India with a powerful punch.The attack was not on Mumbai but it was on India, on a billion Indians.

The world has seen many terrorist attacks,we Indians have seen many but this was the last straw on the heap, we cant tolerate anymore, we are angry now,we are very angry on the government.I am not blaming the Congress party,they are just unlucky to be on the chair now,but in general i blame the entire system,the government officials,and politicians of all parties

But what is the use just blaming each other.We need actions.We need immediate actions.India our country is not safe anymore,if just a handful of teenagers could render sleepless nights of terror to a billion people how safe are we,how safe is the general public.The citizens of the country are not safe.Without the citizens how are you going to run the government.Mumbai is the highest tax paying city in India.What are you doing with all those taxes,cant you provide us safety,what else are we asking you???What will happen if all of us stop paying taxes???

A piece of information i got today that most the funds alloted to the Mumbai police department has been utilised to buy luxury cars for the police replacing their jeeps and for air conditioning the police stations....cant you buy better weapons for them,still they have the same old 1950s pistol shown from the black and white cinema with the 6 bullets,and and for each bullet used you have to submit report and that too in no way you can shoot an accused above their thighs.And after shooting you are faced with an enquiry.Ridiculous!!!!Cant you change the system???How long do you think can the same old system run,you need to change with time.You cant use a cellphone for more than 1 year.How do you expect we citizens are safe with the same 50 year old system.

At this point I would like to pay respect to the real heroes who sacrificed their lives so that we can sleep in peace.With such outdated weaponry the mumbai police did their best to evade the damage which could have happened.Despite which 15 policemen lost their lives including 3 big names which include Hemant Karkare,Vijay Salaskar and Ashok Kamte.The nation salutes you Sir.And also the 2 NSG jawans which included Major Unnikrishnan sacrificing their lives.Salutes to you too Sir.

Now getting back to the issue.This is a sensitive issue and it has happened.But whoever makes political use of this is nothing short of a pottai(in tamil its a slang for cowards,literally meaning a girl).What the hell were 2 well known BJP leaders doing at Oberoi-Trident hotel when the NSG operation was going,
"Anga enna velaku pudika vandhingala??"
You guys were just creating distraction,in that commotion, who is responsible for your security??Who asked you to come there,instead you should have gone to the Hospital where the injured policemen are admitted.Next coming to a well known leader who came to give money to Karkare's family, who asked for your money???Is 1 crore a price to a brave son of India...Karkare is a priceless hero,mind you politicians. You cant settle his loss by money. Karkare's wife gave a good backslash by denying the money.This is not your playground to play your cheap game of politics.If you are really interested in doing any good(which is very difficult to expect from a politician) then install faith and strength among the Indian citizens.

I am not accusing only BJP in this regard.Even the CM has not administered the state properly, he failed to control the regional clashes initiated by Raj Thackarey, and now the terror attacks and adding to all this he conducts a Disaster tourism by touring around the damaged Taj with his son and a director.Apart from this the deputy Cheif Minister saying that "In bigger cities one or two incidents like these do happen.The death toll might have been 5000.You should be happy that it is 195".Attrocious comments by some one in a high post.You expect us to be happy???We are angry!!You are pouring more oil in the fire.Its nice to see that though he could have done nothing about it,Shivaraj Patil stepped down from the post of Home Minister taking the moral responsibility

Now coming to more of a local issue...Where is the so called Raj Thackarey???Mumbai has become a bloody hell.And what are you doing shutting yourself inside your house.Where is your MNS,the so-called Marathi Army.Its the brave sons of India,who gave their lives so that Mumbaikars can have a peaceful sleep.When these NSG went into the Terror-hit sites, there was nothing in their mind,they did nt think,"hey i am a malayali why should i save mumbai??".All they thought was ,"My India is at seige,I am an Indian first,I am here to save my motherland not my mother tongue".Why dont you guys understand it???

Now coming back to the attack,one guy is now caught and he is revealing all the truths.And much evidence has been recovered which directly points to Pakistan as the origin of the attacks.Why did Pakistan not send its ISI cheif???ISI officially endorses and suppors Lashkar-e-Taiba,this is what i read in a newspaper.How can a goverment agency support a terrorist organization,what is the goverment doing about it there in Pakistan??? And since much of the evidence and the caught terrorist's testimony is pointing to Pakistan,the Tension between the countries is rising.Pakistan has shifted most of its troops from Afgan border to Indian borders,India too is strengthening its defence.Though the central goverment is denying any possibility of a war.But some miscreants in our country are planting the seeds of a war in the hearts of many.War cannot be a solution.Non-violence has always been our way and we will continue to follow it.Many say "After september 11,America gave a backslash to Osama by destroying Afganistan".So do u expect India to backslash the LeT by destroying Pakistan???America is an International Rowdy according to me so it went to war.We Indians believe in Gandhigiri and never in Dhadhagiri.

But we cannot leave this incident as such.I said to be peaceful and non-violent with our neighbours.But not with terrorists.As it is said "When someone slaps you on one cheek,show the other cheek".But this time "The terrorists have slapped on both our cheeks".And hence many are asking to slap everyone from the country where the terrorist belongs to.It is absolutely wrong.We have slapped back the terrorist,All 11 of them dead and 1 caught alive.Next step is we need to protect our cheeks so that someone else might not slap us again.My point is we need to increase our security,which i stressed in the initial lines of the blog itself.

What I expect at this instance is the Government rather than leaking the evidence they have about the incident to the media they should directly come in front of the media and declare all the evidence and point out the culprits to install faith in people's minds which is now driven by fear and anger.

And of course the Prime Minister has come with good ideas of increasing NSG strength and building NSG base at all 4 major cities of the nation and many more steps.Good ,but we have to wait and see how this is implemented.All this was decided in the All-party meeting.A point worth-mentioning here is a so-called experienced politician of the country did nt find time to attend the most important meeting of the nation at this point of crisis.You may be BJP or Congress, but all you politicians are first citizens of India.Your party is insignificant at the time of India's worst crisis.Terrorism is an issue where religion,caste and party are no bar.Every one of us should join hands without any diversity and have to eliminate this wild bush called Terrorism from is root.

OK!!Enough of Accusing others.Now just think if we citizens have gone wrong anywhere???Yes Of course.Its our attitude.The Indian attitude.We are so tolerant and use the "Its all right","Chaltha hai" ,"Pona podhu" attitude.We are not bothered about the minor issues in our soceity, as shown in movies like Anniyan.We spit on the road.We pay to pass urinals in toilets and it is free to pass it in the open.We are not bothered about quality,if it is cheap and not of good qualtiy again the "Pona podhu" attitude.And all these minor faults by each and every one of us billion citizens culminates into a big problem like terrorism and strikes us really hard on our ass,when it does we cry and start blaming others.The tolerance, ignorance and the "Pona podhu attitude" among the mumbai police and government officials is responsible for not considering the Indian Intelligence reports about smuggling RDX into Indian shores in Gujarat and this terror attack.Basically they are also Indians and thats why they have the same attitude like us.Hence it is a long time process.We need to change our attitude towards life.Though it is difficult for us to change,We have to take things seriously now and have to sow this attitude of taking even the mildest thing seriously in our future generations.Hardwork and sincereity has been the reason for Japan to become a superpower enough to lend money to America during America's economic crisis.When will we Indians stop all this cheating,hoarding,black-markets etc ., we learn a lot in our scriptures and in schools.Has anyone of us practiced atleast one virtue in it??If we had,If everyone of us had we could have avoided this attack and saved 195 innocent lives.Anyway it is over,we have to learn our lessons atleast now and as a citizen do our duty properly,the nation will change.A nation is just not a piece of land.It is made of flesh,blood and the spirit of a billion people.

We talk so much but at last,this incident has not only left a physical scar on the hundreds of people injured but a mental scar in a billion hearts.And it truly is a scar difficult to heal[title pudichuten].It will take months or even years to heal

I am back

My last blog was just after getting placed in Accenture....should say it was a gud company to work with.But its a non-dream job which i needed just for a safety in case i dont get a dream job.I did nt get back to this blogging world coz i was determined to write my next blog only after geting a dream job

Dream job!!!!!!
Uh....Dream job is a job of everyone's dream....As soon as i was placed in Accenture in the very first attempt, i was jumping with confidence to get placed in a dream job but all i got was rejections, disappointments, filled along with some cheap politics and hence some unexpected results until came Symantec, the job of my dreams to recognize my skills and recruit me.
I will blog on the entire details about getting placed in Symantec in a separate blog which would be pleasant and happy one,in this blog i will be writing about all bitter experiences which where on my pathway to Symantec.And about all those failures which were stepping stones to my success

Well let me begin right after Accenture placements...I was back to normal work at Aricent...was giving final touches to my internship project,it was July 3 and i was to finish off my internship on July 8th coz Dream jobs were coming after that

Some how on July 8th everything got over and i returned my Aricent ID card and came back

3 rejections in a row :(
Dream jobs start..... I dont remember the exact dates of the companies .....i should say lots of companies were coming this year....
It started off as usual with Deshaw and as usual IT topper[which is mostly a girl] from MIT would be placed in it......SURPRISE...it was kutti senior our Sandol,the guys topper of IT got placed....next came Microsoft....In both these companies i was not even shortlisted,...our ka praveen got shortlisted in Microsoft alongwith and Gokul....Google intern Sidharth go placed in it frm MIT....then i decided due to internships i did nt hav enuf preparations....so i need to start preparing and i did nt attend the next companies which included Commvault,Exeter,Thoughtworks[all had 5 lakh pay]......then came Informatica(7.2 lakhs)....again it was disappointing to not get shortlisted in it too......

3 Shortlists came for a relief
Amidst these 3 rejections there came few other companies which i skipped which included Cisco(7.2 lakhs),HP(4.8 lakhs)...btw Cisco had recruited 22 last year from both CEG and MIT......many attended it with gr8 hopes and to their disappointment it recruited only 3.This was when i started to fear.....last year it was abundant dream job offers and this year i think the IT industry is on for a gr8 slide and it eventually happened as the GREAT RECESSION in september....
So the next dream after informatica was Global Scholar(chennai based with package of 8.5 lakhs)....got shortlisted for the first time and was rejected in 1st round.....anyway no one can reach the top in jus the first leap....but i was asingapaduthified in the interview slightly....its my fault i had nt prepared well for interview.......my aim all these days was to get shortlisted....i achieved it now hav to start my preparations for interviews....then suddenly chronus came....its a not-so-good company with package of 5 lakhs,and workload of 17 hours being a start-up....i was shortlisted in that too ,had my interview at 9:30 at night and was rejected in the 2nd round.....IBM which had been reported to be non-dream came as a dream(6.0 lakhs)....v came to know after reaching college....rushed from college to ceg.....traffic jam at pallavaram due to Sonia Gandhi coming...got train and reached CEG by 11:30 and wrote test ....again got shortlisted alongwith Raghavan and Gowri....i was rejected in the 1st round with jus 3 questions asked......Gowri got placed in IBM
And amidst this some other companies which i skipped include mu-sigma,starent(in which Raghavan got placed)
Yahoo had said they wud come but later cancelled

3 Unexpected twists in the tale
Then came Oracle in which my senior Meenakshi was placed....Would have been happy if i had to become her junior again in Oracle....But it was a different kinda test....an online test.....rejected in it......Lalitha got placed in consultancy and Revathy & Divya got placed in Server Tech....The next beating came from Google....No MITian was allowed to write written test......the reason v came to know after the issue became big......some1 had uploaded their resume in google website.....and VC had fight with them and google was sent back......
Then i skipped photon infotech reading about their worst work culture and experience frm their employees.....Next came Nortel.....reached late for test jus 20 questions got 12 correct was shortlisted for interview....Cleared the C round.....Cleared the N/W round......and attended the HR.......results wud be announced on Monday(Nov 3rd).....Ashwant,Bubly Praveen,Gokul,Soundarya Bala got placed in photon.....Srivatsan and Better Sathish got placed in Nortel.......Me,joe and RN vinodh were rejected by nortel.......

Suddenly came Symantec on Nov 5th..we were informed the package is 5.5

A blog which i always wanted to write........the experience abt my 1st placement interview.......but never thought i ll write this when i am very depressed after not able to clear even the written test of Deshaw and Microsoft..............ok let me begin from 27th june 2008.

27th june 2008
After my days internship work at Aricent I was on my way back to home,when my friend shanthakumar msged me and said he was very vexed abt being not selected at TCS, so he asked me wat he needs to do, my friend praveen had already planned to come to my house to prepare for Accenture .I too had been busy with my internship project so i too had nt prepared anything so all 3 of us planned to meet in my home on 28th dats the saturday.

28th june 2008
Well my 2 friends reached my home by 11,i jus ran them thru all the material i had collected for accenture and GD it was some 30 mb,luckily we started off with some tech,like basic difference between c and c++,difference between c++ and java etc..we landed into C++,praveen who used to be the only guy awake during jayshree mam's classes is a maestro in c++,he recollected us all the basics like virtual function,abstract class etc...
then we had lunch
then i showed them the 2008 pattern,we were by now thorough with the pattern[i ll discuss the pattern later coz its the same which we attended] then it was GD time,we tuk up almost all the topics nearly some 50 which are listed in all websites as popular gd topics,then it was by 6:30 my friends left.This was the first time in my life i did a group studies and it ensured me a job at Accenture

29th june 2008
I started off playing Age of Mythology twice and then watching Annamalai movie on DVD[thalaivar movie always gives lots of confidence to me...especially the song Vetri nichayam]....it was almost evening and i was home alone since every1 at home left for pondicherry
it was by 6 that i remembered that tomoro is my 1st placement...i hurriedly started off with some tech coz i was confident of clearing apps given the previous day's practice...gd was the moment's game so nothing can be said ....all i cud do was some tech..so i recollected everything in data structures and algorithms[my primary aoi] and then OS was not wat i feared it was a breeze[my second aoi].....still to touch OOP......it was 8:30 i came back to the accenture apps pattern and revised everything....my parents return and now comes my dad's part in my placement he discussed with me all the social issues and current affairs from nuclear deal till sethusamudram........ from maran-karunanidhi clash till jayalalitha's corruption for nearly half hour......

30th june 2008
Its the d-day as usual and b4 begining any important thing i did the usual thing i do to my Lord Murugar...with the confidence given by my mom and the confidence i have on my lord...i left home at 7:29[7-30 to 9:00 was raahukaalam]reached velachery by 8:10 ...i cud nt find any 21L..i was actually standing at the wrong place...ran and caught up the bus in running at the opposite side.....reached ceg at exactly 9...the ppt had nt yet started...all my classmates were waiting and preparing seriously...i jus had my resume and water bottle nothing else to prepare[luckily i brought the resume]the ppt began the accenture ppl explained everything abt the salary,higher study options etc.,one incident i need to mention here...a boy during the doubts session went upto the mike and asked "Why are IT companies lieing like this even TCS sed it needed 1300 but it took only 420 same case with wipro ...are you also lieing??????"

total 55 questions... 1 hour
i answered them in order leaving out reading comprehension and the 3 timesonsuming problem to check expression. then i went back to them after finishing all i had 5 minutes left i went back to RC ...i read the passage completely then found many mistakes in my answer i corrected all of them[you have to be very fast with other questions so that you save time for RC.....and many may advice you to read the questions and find the answer in the passage..its really tuff ..coz i did the same mistake...and answeed many wrongly only when i read the passage completely i found my mistakes]
the we need to write an essay for 10 minutes.our topic was "My college life"

the test result wud be announce in 1 hr 15 min ...so approximately 1:30..me,praveen and shanthakumar had our lunch at the ceg canteen and went back to vivekananda auditorium by 2:30 for results....very tense moment they were announcing the result by GD panel wise...12 student per panel,praveen's name came in 6th panel,shanthakumar's came in 13th panel...i still waiting biting my nails...very tense......my name was the last name in the 18th panel
there were totally 21 panels ..so 252 students shortlisted out off 900 odd who wrote the written test

Now GD.... in my panel 11 were ceg guys...all were peters in english...and myself and mervin[ECE] where from MIT..while we were waiting for our turn of GD at the auditorium...these ceg peters started off discussing the best way so that they get selected like starting off when the neighbour stops.....all stuffs...me and mervin were sitting quiet......we started a conversation but they kept ignoring us...pozhachu poranga GD la pathukalaam
GD started by 3...the coordinator asked if we had any topic ..those guys had already decided the topic it seems it was "IPL impact on indian cricket".The coordinator agreed.And smartly mervin started off first...coz he never got another chance to speak when these guys where speaking.I attempted nearly 4 times to put forth my point but they never let me speak, abiding to the GD norms,i stopped myself and it went on i never got a chance to speak,finally the coordinator said Karthik you speak, dis is what i spoke "WELL......As far as IPL is concerned it is jus a commercial venture and it does nt have much of the spirit of cricket in it ,bringing in big corporates and bollywood stars may have raked the revenue but it has nt done much good to cricket as we have seen only most of the international players have been instrumental in their teams winning.Instead ICL which gave ample oppurtunities to budding youngsters would be a better option".The others started off opposing me "This is ridiculous..ICL is completely different from IPL".The coordinator said "Lets stop it here......[he paused for a few seconds]....All of you are selected."

GD over .....and i am confident about my technical skills....i have never doubted it so am very confident about my interview...they took us to a room and made us fill a form after filling it took us to the drawing hal of ceg where simultaneously tech and hr interview were going on....mine first was tech......in the meantime called up parthiban coz i had few doubts in some of my projects coz not only me none of us had prepared for the interview.He searched the net and replied me.My 1st was tech.the person was some 35-40 years old...very calm
Interviewer:Tell me about yourself
Me:told the usual stuff
[in the meantime he went thru my resume]
Interviewer:what is your favourite subject
Me:data structures
Interviewer:tell me 10 important factors you need to consider while doing data structure programs
Me:I had no clue about it...i jus put maintainence and told all stories about malloc,delete etc
Interviewer:That was nt what i expected
[very demoralising for me at begining itself]
well then what all databases you have exposure on

:have you done any projects in it
Interviewer:yes explained my stocks management project for IT dept
Me:draw the ER diagram for it
Interviewer:[he gave me a table and asked to write sql for some conditions]

[before i could rectify he got up came near me went thru my resume again]

Interviewer:That was really fast.It has jus crossed 1 minute[he has been noting the time i took for coding it seems] ok explain it now

It was 6 pm by now.Then those who had completed both HR and tech were asked to leave and those completed only one interview were asked to wait in a room

When we were waiting in the room,the merittrac ppl came and took some of us .....ten students at once i think..where taken to the interview they had nt attended.....i was taken by around 7:30 for my HR interview.

Me:Because unlike other companies like cts or tcs which recruit in 1000s accenture recruits only around 100 so i wanna be unique among others,dats y i waited for accenture skipping cts,tcs and wipro[this is the actual truth]
Interviewer:ok then what did u like in accenture today
Me:the way everything was organized and everything is getting over today itself
Interviewer:but many felt it wud be better if conducted for 2 days
Me:maybe they wud hav got time to prepare....but this was a surprise to everyone
Interviewer:Accenture is well versed in throwing surprises
Me:I too like surprises[this is the point i felt i had impressed him]
Interviewer:Do you know that there is 1 year service agreement
Me:Yes sir
Interviewer:are you ready to sign the bond

It was 8:30 pm by now...I left home
Some of my friends had their interview for the next day
the results where announced by 2:00 pm
And i was at home .......my friends messaged me that i had been selected

Sixth end Semester Examination and Results

well results came yesterday dats on may 27th, before getting into my end sem xams and these result stuff,well i was really a bit busy these feb-march thats y cud nt write any personal blog though had many instance for writing it, such as,

• We selected for the IIT Roorkee programming contest and winning 2nd prize there
• trip to roorkee of the 3 of us
• Me clearing the Microsoft internship written test

• the experience there

but here in this blog i ll restrict myself to the exams and results

well now i recollect my experience of the end sem xam first by luking thru the question papers

the first to kick off was S/w proj mgmt,i had an internal of 46,apart from 2 sixteen mark there was nothing else answerable,the rest i cud manage only stories.well expecting a A in dis subject
the next was n/w prog mgmt ,dis paper i had done comparatively betterexcept for last 16 mark i had done all other decently,2 marks are a known fact that they are not manageable,had attempted some 5 correctly,expecting a A or B in worst case
the next is MC,well i had an internal of 41 and our n** sekar knows abt me,but i was mistaken, ipdi pazhi vaanguvaanu theriyala,it was a damn tough paper none of the 2 mark were touchable and 16 marks though were tough were familiar to wat i had read,so compared to others i had done a decent job so most probably shud get a A.....i was mistaken
next was VP ,parthasarathy had been a hellduring class itself and i had a low internal of jus 36 and the paper unlike wat i had imagined was an average paper,i was familiar with all 16 marks and jus breezed thru it and also the 2 marks were nt that tuff,so though i had done well but given my low internal shud definitely get B
then came Web tech our suganthi's paper,many felt it a difficult paper ,i felt an average,had done three 16 marks well and two 16 marks averagely,and 2 marks were a breeze,dunno wat my internal was but shud be some 47/48,so shud be getting S or in worst case A
then came the last paper DS,it was a damn tuff paper,i had nt studied the last 2 chap and the remaining chap questions were difficult ,some how managed my own stories,had an internal of 40,shud be able to get a B or in worst case C

xams over finally evening went with KK,shanthakumar and praveen to ceg swimming pool and gave them treat there for Roorkee prog contest 2nd prize

then pragathesh snr had sed i hav been selected along with 3 cse students for aricent internship from may 15th till july 15th joined there on may 15th and did nt do much worlk except for attended a seminar on IP and did some fault analysis for them on 22nd and jus studying n/w basics and tcl & expect

Well finally the D-day came....i was in my cubicle in my office at Aricent...it was around 11 when anija mailed me that their results had come.....i msged to almost all of my friends .....but all were in class and only a few replied back
but still after class was over the result where not published it seems....FA was waiting to take xerox of the result it seems......andha mokka xerox ku 1 hour waste panni irukaanga
then shanthakumar was the 1st to msg me about my results..the best results i hav had since i joined MIT and wat a time to get them .....jus b4 placements the 1st time i am crossing the 9 pointer-mark

it is all becoz of the Almighty Lorfd Murugar who has always been by my side thru all my joy and sorrow....who has been driving force throughout my life since my birth

New Rules to be kept by ICC

After watching the test match, someone has written some rules have to be incorporated by ICC to give the other teams a perfect clarification

(1) Ricky Ponting - (THE TRULY GENUINE CRICKETER OF THE CRICKET ERA AND WHOSE INTEGRITY SHOULD NOT BE DOUBTED ) should be considered as the FOURTH UMPIRE. As per the new rules, FOURTH UMPIRE decision is final and will over ride any decisions taken by any other umpires. ON-FIELD umpires can seek the assistance of RICKY PONTING even if he is not on the field. This rule is to be made, so that every team should understand the importance of the FOURTH UMPIRE .

(2) While AUSTRALIAN TEAM is bowling, If the ball flies anywhere close to the AUSTRALIAN FIELDER(WITHIN 5 metre distance), the batsman is to be considered OUT irrelevant of whether the catch was taken cleanly or grassed. Any decision for further clarification should be seeked from the FOURTH UMPIRE. This is made to ensure that the cricket is played with SPORTIVE SPIRIT by all the teams.

(3) While BATTING, AUSTRALIAN players will wait for the ON-FIELD UMPIRE decisions only (even if the catch goes to the FIFTH SLIP as the ball might not have touched the bat). Each AUSTRALIAN batsman has to be out FOUR TIMES (minimum) before he can return to the pavilion. In case of THE CRICKETER WITH INTEGRITY, this can be higher.

(4) UMPIRES should consider a huge bonus if an AUSTRALIAN player scores a century. Any wrong decisions can be ignored as they will be paid huge bonus and will receive the backing of the AUSTRALIAN team and board.

(5) All AUSTRALIAN players are eligible to keep commenting about all players on the field and the OPPONENT TEAM should never comment as they will be spoiling the spirit of the AUSTRALIAN team. Any comments made in any other language are to be considered as RACISM only.

(6) MATCH REFREE decisions will be taken purely on the AUSTRALIAN TEAM advice only. Player views from the other teams decisions will not be considered for hearing. MATCH REFREES are to be given huge bonus if this rule is implemented.

(7) NO VISITING TEAM should plan to win in AUSTRALIA. This is to ensure that the sportive spirit of CRICKET is maintained.

(8) THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE : If any bowler gets RICKY PONTING - "THE UNDISPUTED CRICKETER WITH INTEGTIRY IN THE GAME OF CRICKET" more than twice in a series, he will be banned for the REST OF THE SERIES. This is to ensure that the best batsman/Captain will be played to break records and create history in the game of CRICKET .

These rules will clarify better to the all the teams VISITING AUSTRALIA .

TAARE ZAMEEN PAR .....if someone else had made this movie......

Taare Zameen par is one movie i really loved watching......the main reason being shah rukh not in the movie......i ll write a blog abt that lovely movie very soon.But for now jus go thru this funny mail forward.

If Karan Johar made Taare

• Obvious starcast:
  • Shah Rukh Khan as the arts teacher (duh duh duh!!).
  • Aryan Khan as the dyslexic child (even if he could not act for nuts).
  • Rani Mukerjee as the kid's mom (assuming Kajol is unavailable).
  • Abhishek Bachchan as the kid's dad.
  • Amitabh Bachchan as the school principal (who cares if the role is ultra minute, he can afford it).
  • It would be shot in New York to appeal to the NRI audience.
  • The story line would obviously be different. SRK would fall for the dyslexic kid's mom. The last scene would have the mom running to the teacher rather than the kid. And again, like in so many other movies, SRK would get someone else's girl.
  • It would have one dance number.
  • The film would be titled 'Kuch Taare Zameen Par.'

If Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Taare

• Obvious starcast:
  • Salman as the teacher.
  • Rani as the mother.
  • Of course the whole film would be shot on elaborate sets. The school would be nothing short of Harvard university.
  • An orchestra would play every time anyone cried.
  • Slow motion, different camera angles for every scene.
  • The school uniforms would match the classroom walls even though that does not make a f***ing difference.
  • The film would cost 60 crores.

If Farah Khan made Taare

• Obvious starcast:
  • SRK as the teacher (yawn).
  • In the original Taare, Aamir makes an entry at the interval point. In Farah's version, SRK would be on screen on for 2.30 hrs out of the 2.45 hrs and would be introduced in the first scene itself.
  • The story would be changed to make sure the above happened. The focus of the film would be a teacher who helps a kid fight dyslexia.
  • To make it a complete entertainer, there would be a romantic angle, comedy, and action thrown in. Oh idea!! Nikumbh's character likes another teacher and the kiddo helps him.. throw in some comedy moments there and you have romance and comedy settled. For action.. hmm.. lemme see.. oh yah, the kid gets kidnapped and the teacher fights the baddies to save him. Wow!! I'm quite an imaginative writer. I can see how Farah can write a film from scratch in two weeks straight.
  • The film posters would have a big SRK with the tiny image of the kid in the background.

If Rakesh Roshan made Taare

• Obvious starcast:
  • Hrithik Roshan as the teacher.
  • Since Rakesh Roshan cannot think beyond science fiction these days, this film would have that too. Instead of dyslexia, the kid would have alienositis or something, a condition induced due to him witnessing an alien abduction.
  • Instead of Nikumbh being an arts teacher, he would be a physics teacher, and instead of asking kids to be creative, he would ask them to challenge the science we know.
  • In the scene where Nikumbh asks the kids to open their minds and make whatever they want outdoors, the kid Ishaan, instead of making a boat, would end up making a working spaceship prototype.
  • Nikumbh would cure the kids problem by making a full fledged version of the kid's prototype, traveling to the alien planet, and asking them to give the kid his powers back.
  • The film would have mus ic by Rajesh Roshan ripped off from some world music.
  • The film's name would again start with a K.. probably 'Kuch Aliens Taaron se Zameen Par'.
  • The director would make sure Hrithik gets to show all his abilities. This would mean a scene with Roshan jr flexing his muscles, and a dance competition in the end, instead of an arts competition.

If Priyadarshan made Taare:

• Obvious starcast:
  • Akshay Kumar as the teacher.
  • Paresh Rawal as the kid's dad.
  • It would be a brainless comedy. The kid's dyslexia would be made fun of. Half the times the parents will be running after the kid from one room to the other and that, in the director's opinion, would be funny.
  • The film will be full of sex jokes. So for example, when Akshay would come to the parents telling them that their son has dyslexia, the ignorant father would say something inappropriate like 'iss umar mein? par kaise, woh to hamesha boys school mein padha hai!'. And yes, the director would think it is funny.
  • In the climax of the film all the characters in the film would run around in the amphitheater for no reason, spilling colors on each other. That's where the film will end, without any logical conclusion.
  • And of course, Paresh Rawal would emote like an epileptic himself making us question the boy's mental abilities anyway.
